What just happened (read it after the experiment)
Between an atom (a ten-billionth of a meter) and the observable universe (93 billion light-years across), there are about 37 powers of ten.
The idea comes from the film Powers of Ten (1977) by Charles and Ray Eames, which zoomed out from a picnic to the edge of the cosmos, then back in to the nucleus of an atom.
You are closer to the atom than to the universe: ten powers of ten separate you from the one, twenty-seven from the other.
